Examples of Faith
Hebrews Chapter 11 is a passage written to remind those who would hear it
about how faith had played such a vital part in Israelite history. It recounts
several things that involve children:
•
Abraham was able to rely on the promise that he would be the father
of numerous descendants
•
Sarah was able to have children even though she was past normal
childbearing age
•
Abraham trusted in God when asked to sacrifice Isaac, even though it
was through Isaac that his promise of many descendants was to come
•
Isaac was able to bless his children for their futures
•
Jacob blesses Joseph’s sons
•
Moses refuses to deny his heritage when growing up in Pharoah’s
household, having been hidden for the first three months as a baby
So, children and childhood are there when faith is seen working.
