Children Reflect Parents and Vice-

versa

1. Proverbs contains an encouragement to do things with children that they will be able to rely on later in life. 2. It was a mark of respect to the aged that they get to see their children’s children (especially at a time when so many died young). Parents are something that children can take pride in. 3. A list of sinful actions includes disobeying parents. 4. In Malachi there is a promise that the prophet Elijah will be sent before the end times. When he comes, he will turn parents to their children and vice-versa. This promise is claimed by the angel Gabriel to be true for John the Baptist when he tells Zechariah that John will be born (Luke Chapter 1 verse 17)
